HALO Georgia Program Manager

Tom has worked for HALO since 2008 as an operations officer in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. He is currently the Program Manager for Georgia, where 10 manual teams and five mechanical teams are clearing Soviet legacy minefields.


Irakli Chitanava
HALO Georgia Program Administrator

Irakli Chitanava started working for HALO Abkhazia in 2001 as a translator. Since then he has worked as Program Logistician, Mine Risk Education (MRE) coordinator, and is currently the Program Administrator for HALO Georgia. He is responsible for program finance, fleet management and logistics. Irakli also took part in HALO’s initial survey following the 2008 war - in the photo he can be seen investigating the site of an SS-21 missile strike.




Lasha Lomidze
HALO Georgia Senior Operations Supervisor

Lasha Lomidze started working for HALO in 2008 and quickly proved his ability during HALO’s Battle Area Clearance (BAC) Program following the August 2008 war. He is now the Senior Supervisor of approximately 100 staff working on the clearance of Georgia’s Soviet legacy minefields.
