HALO is funded by a range of donors, from members of the public to governments and institutional donors. The financial procedures supporting this funding are covered in the finance section.

Donations from members of the public form a crucial part of HALO’s funding, providing a vital level of support in countries where funding is difficult to secure from large governmental donors.

Across the 14 countries that HALO works in, we have over 7,000 local staff – from deminers to senior local managers – and more than 50 expatriate managers.

Our regional desks are divided between Central Asia, South Asia, South East Asia, Middle East, Horn of Africa, Southern Africa, South America and the Caucasus & Balkans.

HALO’s HQ administration is lean and based in rural South West Scotland. There is a chief Executive, supported by regional desk officers and a finance department.  All spend much of the year in the field.
